Namor, also known as Prince Namor, is a prominent character in Marvel Comics. The Phoenix Five version of Namor appeared during the "Avengers vs. X-Men" storyline. This storyline is part of the original comic book.
In this storyline, the Phoenix Force, a cosmic entity of immense power, was fragmented and distributed among five X-Men: Cyclops, Emma Frost, Colossus, Magik, and Namor. Each became a host to a portion of the Phoenix Force, transforming them into the Phoenix Five.
As one of the Phoenix Five, Namor wielded a fraction of the Phoenix Force's abilities. This amplified his already formidable powers, granting him cosmic energy manipulation, telepathy, telekinesis, and the ability to control fire. The Phoenix Five sought to reshape the world according to their vision, but their actions quickly escalated into a conflict with the Avengers.
Namor's first appearance was in Marvel Comics #1 (October 1939).
